I have practiced law for over 25 years, focusing on wireless telecommunications siting and infrastructure, commercial real estate, and general business transactions. During this time, I have represented large international companies, as well as small business operators and entrepreneurs. In addition, having been a financial consultant and analyst prior to becoming an attorney, I do not provide legal advice in a vacuum void of common sense approaches to business solutions. I work directly with my clients to ensure that I understand their overall business goals. Being a sole practitioner, my clients know that they will receive the benefit of my knowledge and experience directly, rather than having their projects handled by associates with less expertise.
Prior to returning to private practice, I joined Cary, North Carolina-based SpectraSite Communications, Inc. in June 2001, where I spent nearly 10 years focusing on all aspects of its wireless infrastructure business. When American Tower Corporation and SpectraSite merged in August 2005, I was recruited to remain with American Tower, and most recently, held the position of Vice President, Legal Operations, Collocation. In this role I managed a team of attorneys and paraprofessionals focusing on collocation or new revenue development for American Tower’s United States wireless tower, in-building and outdoor distributed antenna systems (DAS), and rooftop management businesses. In this position, I was the lead attorney in the negotiation and drafting of master agreements and other substantial agreements with American Tower’s largest customers. My team and I also supported American Tower’s ground rights acquisition and lease extension team.
Before joining SpectraSite, I was in private practice in Washington, DC, and Raleigh, North Carolina, specializing in commercial real estate law and general business with a transactional emphasis.
